Prerequisite: Spanish I or permission from faculty and staff
Course description:
Spanish II is meant to accommodate students in the second phase of the learning continuum as outlined by The California Framework for World Languages. (Stage II, Created, in which learners understand and produce sentences and strings of sentences.)
Students in this class will increase their knowledge of the linguistic and cultural knowledge of Spanish and Spanish-speaking countries. The standards that will be addressed are related to content, communication, cultures, structures and settings.
Students should expect to practice Spanish, at minimum, every other day for twenty minutes. This includes days in which no Spanish “homework” is assigned. Learning a foreign language requires practice! If you do not put in the time, you will not be as successful in this course.
